Ferdinand reveals what he loves about Solskjaer’s Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand has praised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for bringing ‘harmony’ back to Old Trafford, after Manchester United advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Romelu Lukaku’s brace and a late Marcus Rashford penalty ensured United became the first team in Champions League history to advance to the next round having lost the first leg of a knockout match by two or more goals at home.

The stunning win in Paris saw Manchester United advance on the away goals rule, with Solskjaer’s side qualifying for the last eight for the first time since the 2013/14 season.

Former United defender Ferdinand was full of praise for the Norweigen’s impact since replacing Jose Mourinho in December, saying the 46-year-old has brought ‘positivity’ back to the club.

“What I love is the harmony in the group – there was a cold vibe going through this squad that I couldn’t explain it. But it’s been flipped on its head and Ole and his staff have changed these players,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

“Lukaku is now talking glowingly about his partner up front – people who looked like strangers who are now team-mates. I was depressed walking into Old Trafford, now it’s just positivity flying out.”
